I have a lot to process and can't really try to update well until I can start to make sense of some of what we learned today.
I can say that the surgery was successful in the sense that we DO have a secure, working line. It is in Noah's right leg. He has a large sutured and glued incision in his groin and a smaller sutured and glued incision in his upper inner thigh where the line actually exits. He is very sore, bruised, and swollen. His hemoglobin has dropped a lot (due more to his blood loss Wednesday than to today's surgery) and he needs blood. I don't know if he'll get it tonight or tomorrow but barring any unforeseen complications we should get to go home tomorrow.
Beyond that, we'd ask for your prayers as we digest and process some difficult discussions we had today. We have incredibly heavy hearts. I will update when I can think a bit more clearly.
Blessings,
Kate
