Inspired by his visit with Pierce of Pierce's Scaly Adventures and by a DK Animal Sticker Activity book he was sent for his birthday, Noah has decided to write an animal field guide of his own. He's named it Noah and Pierce's Scaly Adventures and he adds a few entries a day. It's one of those children's journals with lines and blank drawing space on each page. He has drawn a few creatures but usually prefers to select a sticker for the illustration. I've got the job of writing down whatever he says - I got the job because he says I know better than to write things like, "OK, that's it" or "ummm" LOL. In all honesty, the hard part isn't knowing which things he means for me to write - it's managing to keep a straight face as he VERY seriously tells me this stuff!!!
This book is simply too hilarious to keep to ourselves, so here are a couple of entries for your reading pleasure:
Poisonous Pudding Squid: They can squeeze you and kill you in one second. They are super-super-super-super-super strong. They have homes super-super-super deep in the water. They protect themselves by getting rocks and holding them all over so they look like rocks. The rocks are too strong for sharks to bite. They love to eat cheese puffs. They disguise themselves as pudding. Some of them can kill megaladons.
Cheese Fish: They can't kill any big creatures. They protect themselves by going in things that look like floating rocks. Everything swims by without noticing. They can kill crabs. They really love to go in deep water where the zombie octopuses live. They go there to find shipwrecks so they can take the wood and use it to make forts.
Ghost Fish: They can turn invisible and swim past their enemies. That's how they protect themselves. They can go through things. They live in seashells and eat worms. Discoverers found one once at the beach. They are not deadly.
Poisonous Whale: They can go and hunt for creatures like fish. They destroy anything in their way. They eat rocks. The harder it is, the yummier it is. They also eat chocolate rocks. They are sweet and they will protect you from creatures.
Kinny: They trick people into thinking they are cute, but they are deadly. They have one silver eye and one red eye. They jump on you and bite you if you annoy them. (Editor's note - they look a lot like beetles.)
Tugacork: They love to eat rubies. They love shiny objects. They can't blink so they lick their eyes. They love to steal phones. (Editor's note - they look like lizards.)
Ice Scorpion: These things sometimes live in ice leaves. If you see them glow, that means there is a scorpion in there. They can kill you in one second.
Red Fire Skin Dragon: They can kill like zombies. Their fire is hotter than any other dragon. They are super rare. You usually see them in trees in America. They lay eggs in little holes in the ground.
As you can see, Noah's awesome imagination is still very much alive and well! We are all having so much fun with this little journal and everyone loves to gather around and read new entries.
We are meeting with the vascular surgeon Friday afternoon. Jeff and I can't seem to decide whether we want time to speed up or whether we want it to freeze right here with us making animal journal entries instead of making heartbreaking decisions. I will post as soon as I can after the meeting but may need a day or two to process what we hear so do not worry if I don't post on Friday.
Please continue to pray, especially that the surgeon would be very confident and wise in whatever course of action he recommends.
