I guess we can't call him Sleeping Beauty, but Noah has been sleeping a LOT. Lots of days he's only awake 3-5 hours during the day and then an hour or two in the evenings. He hasn't been sick and his labs are fine. That would seem like good news but it isn't - it means we can't really blame anything acute for the sleepiness. This makes me really sad.
When he IS awake, Noah is as happy and sweet as ever. He's getting REALLY good at managing his power wheelchair and has built up a wonderful seating tolerance (which means he can sit up in it for a long time now.)
A small boy in a really fast power chair is an excellent personal trainer. Chasing him around the neighborhood a couple of times = a really good 2 mile power walk. Extra cardio benefits are incurred every time your heart starts racing because you think he's going to hit a mailbox.
We now have a little bunny named Peter (of course). He was offered by a friend from 4H complete with cage, accessories, food, etc. The offer was strategically made when Sarah was crying because her tadpole died, which means we'd have lost all chances at Parents of the Year if we'd said no. Peter made the rounds of some photography studios for Easter portraits before he came to our house. I believe this was excellent preparation for Life With The Estes Children. He is very, very calm and unflappable. He also seems genuinely affectionate and is extraordinarily cute.
Jeff is getting a lot of hours teaching for Piedmont Technical College and S.C. Ready. This isn't classroom teaching - he's going into different businesses (mostly manufacturing types, not offices) and doing all sorts of industrial training. There is also some life coaching and he's teaching life skills at a maximum security women's prison. This makes it VERY hard for me to resist vague Facebook posts like, "Jeff in prison. Please pray." While this isn't a full time job per se, it is a huge blessing and we are very thankful for the work!
Mary Faith is quite possibly the most adorable thing on two feet. If she weren't very sweet tempered and eager to please, she would probably be spoiled rotten through and through. Somehow every single thing she says is unbearably funny. She should have been triplets.
I've been using Trim Healthy Mama for a few weeks now and have lost 8.5 lbs very easily.
It has rained and rained and rained for days here. If it hadn't stopped, I'd have had to start building an ark instead of taking power
Hannah Grace has got me good and hooked on Once Upon a Time on Netflix. She and I watch it once a week or so for girl time when Jeff is
Next month I will have five teenagers. Somehow this concept escaped my attention when I had five children ages 6 and under. Probably because I was very sleep deprived.
NEVER let anyone scare you by saying, "Oh, just wait until you have teenagers." Teenagers are awesome, except for eating you out of house and home, being taller than you, and making you feel really, really old.
Jeff and I used movie passes we got from giving blood and went and saw Iron Man 3. It's the best of all of the Avengers-related movies in my opinion.
I wish I had a rice maker. I keep saving my Amazon gift cards (from Swagbucks) to buy one, but then I end up spending them on
Today I learned that it's actually quite easy to strike through words in Blogger. They've helpfully provided a little button in the dashboard that does the work for me.
I need to make dinner now.

P.S. I remembered this one right after I posted this blog post - I got all dressed up, make-up on, etc. for church yesterday. I asked Jeff if I looked OK and he told me I looked MATRONLY. Yes, that was his word. He tried to back-peddle by saying he meant that I looked like I was from Downton Abbey but it didn't work. As soon as I get him listed on eBay, I'll post the link here.
