Surgery today

Noah is going down at 1:30 this afternoon for his bladder surgery.  There is still no clear consensus on his line, which continues to look worse.  The surgeon is inclined to leave it in but has agreed to look at it again while Noah is under anesthesia and if he feels that it should be replaced, he'll do so at that time.  Please, please pray for wisdom and that the line will be replaced if it needs to be replaced.  Keeping it in makes me very, very uneasy and uncomfortable, but I don't have the authority to make that decision.  I can advocate and share how I feel, but it's ultimately the surgeon's decision.

There's a not insignificant risk of bacteria from his bacteria-colonized bladder showering his bloodstream and potentially causing a blood infection.  Please pray for safety in that regard!!

Noah is pretty anxious about the surgery.  Child Life came in to talk to him and he even made a little doll and put a suprapubic cath in the doll.  He enjoyed putting pretend peepee through the tube :-) but every time we tried talking about the surgery he put his hands over his ears.  :-(  I'm sure he'll be OK with it once it's over, but please pray for peace as at least right now he's very nervous.
